Riga to Hill of Crosses Tour - Lithuania Historic Bus Tour
Enjoy an all day guided tour of southern Latvia and Lithuania in a comfortable minivan with your knowledgeable and friendly English speaking guide. See the beautiful Latvian countryside and then visit historic Jelgava and see the St. Anna's Lutheran Cathedral built in 1638, the gothic Roman Catholic Cathedral of the Virgin Maria, and the St. Simeon's and St. Anna's Russian Orthodox cathedral. Next you will tour the spectacular Jelgava Palace which is the largest Baroque style palace in the Baltic states. It was built in the 18th century based on the design of Bartolomeo Rastrelli as a residence for the Dukes of Courland. You will finish your tour at the historic Hill of Crosses in Lithuania (Kryziu Kalnas) which was visited by Pope John Paul II and contains over 100,000 crosses. You will return to Riga in the late evening.
